Once again it's been ages since my last post, although between the Holidays and the kiddies I barely even have time to do anything these days so dear readers you must forgive me. Currently my home is strewn with mountains of unwrapped gifts, Christmas bags with various items poking out of them and several toys M and I spent the morning putting together for the boys. So far the Jumperoo my sister got them has been a huge hit, and the babes whine when I make them take turns playing in it.
Because M's parents are divorced, the holidays involve a lot of running around to various family members homes for visits and gift exchanging. I was kind of hoping that we could cut some of that short this year but of course that was impossible since every one wanted to see the boys and spend time with them. Thankfully their fairly flexible about falling asleep for naps and whatever when we aren't home, but it was still a challenge getting them to nap and sleep in so many different places over the last week or so. Poor Max couldn't fall asleep last night until we left M's mom's last night at 9pm and got him into the car. I just hope all of the craziness doesn't make them too agitated to sleep and nap now that most of the running around is done. Except we have to go to M's dad's tonight for Christmas with the step-siblings tonight, at 7pm (umm, yes that is when the boy's bedtime ritual gets started so they can be asleep by 7:30 or so at night...) Hopefully they'll sleep in the bedroom while we open more gifts we neither want nor will use once we get them home.
Max and Nathan turned five months a week and a half ago, and I still marvel at how quickly they've been growing and developing. They've been getting solids for a month or so now, and Nathan is an especially enthusiastic eater (he actually whines if we slow down too much while feeding him.) Both babies have already developed a preference for sweeter stuff like fruits, although Max seems to enjoy some veggies like green beans (yum!) The boys go in for their next check up on Friday, so I'll get an update on their heights and weights then. I can tell that Nathan is definitely bigger than Max by at least a pound or two and I'm terribly curious to see what happens at their weigh in.
I'll try to post soon with another update, probably about how it went at the the pediatrician's office on Friday. In the meanwhile Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all! Oh, and here is a pic of the babies in their Christmas finery.
